If you have not heard of Corte Ingles, let us enlighten you: It is Spain's main department store. You can find a Corte Ingles in almost all locations throughout Spain. It is a traditional store with any and every product that you might need from clothing to kitchen items to books. (think of the old-time department stores that were located in your downtown).
What we love about Corte Ingles is they carry local products from their region. We always go to one in the area we are visiting to discover the small production, local olive oils or other products that might not be available everywhere. We always make time to have a coffee and pastry in their top floor café. Not quite the same experience as the big box stores that are here in the US.
We also love the customer service that they provide. We have no problem what so ever in sending gifts to our family in Spain via their online store. So next time you are visiting España, make time to see this mainstay of Spain. |
